MayaArch3D

The MayaArch3D Project is an international and interdisciplinary project. The aims are the 3D digital documentation of the UNESCO Maya site of Copan (Honduras) and the realization of a 3D Web GIS tool in order to visualize and query multiples resolutions archaeological 3D models online. The work was developed with the 3DOM Unit, Bruno Kessler Foundation, Trento, Italia, in collaboration with the German Archaeological Institute (DAI) and the GIScience Research Group in the University of Heidelberg, Germany and it was financed by the German Ministry of Education and Research.

Multi-sensor and multi-resolution 3D data were acquired in order to produce photo-realistic 3D models useful for archaeological and architectural analyses, 3D Web GIS visualization, digital preservation and divulgation.
